Teryl and Kalli are the best! My home birth with them as my midwives was everything I could have asked for and more. They bring a peaceful, fun, and professional vibe to every visit and to the birth. One of my goals this pregnancy was to find a care team I could trust and felt comfortable and confident with. Kalli and Teryl checked all the boxes. Postpartum this time around was such a wonderful experience and I credit a lot to their care, love, and dedication to helping you have a great pregnancy and birth experience!

I absolutely adore Teryl and her whole team of midwives. Teryl was present for my first homebirth (second baby) in 2018 and just brought the best energy into the room. She helped me catch my baby in the water and unravel his very long cord. She was so calm, was quick to help me find optimal birthing positions and alleviate intense contractions with counter pressure. She ultimately gave me the strength to also stay calm and remember to breathe. It was truly a dreamy lil birth. I looked for her in 2024 when I was having my third baby but couldn't find her at that time. I ended up hiring another midwife and although I had a categorically "perfect" birth and my baby was born at home, I didn't love that experience at all and found it my most mentally, emotionally and physically challenging birth. This year I got pregnant again and this time, I found Teryl again and I would 100% recommend her, Kalli and all the midwives on Teryl's team. They truly are the best. Teryl and her team are so incredible at listening, supporting and being quick to help you find what you're looking for. They trust you, they trust themselves and trust is vital when it comes to birthing your baby, especially at home. Their faith and love in you really just amplifies your own faith and love for yourself in return. I have four kids and after my third birth (my difficult one) I felt like maybe I couldn't do that again, but I am so grateful to have met these women. I don't frequently leave reviews, but women deserve to know there are incredibly attentive, nourishing, and highly attuned midwives, mothers and women in their circle. Kalli and Teryl truly are the dream team. My midwives supported me in all the ways I needed through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Our prenatal check ups felt like visits with friends, the slow pace at which they take them makes you feel so comfortable. During labor and birth I felt so well taken care of by Teryl and Kalli. They respected my space and my bodily autonomy while also giving me their expert advice and delivering the highest quality of medical care when they needed to step in. Saying goodbye to them at the end of my 12 week postpartum visit was so hard, after so much time with them I didn't want to say goodbye. I would and do recommend Stay Awhile Midwifery to all the expectant parents I meet. I wish I could have birthed with them for my first baby and would use them again if I ever have another baby.

Teryl and Kalli were such wonderful midwives for my home birth! The care they provide is so gentle and loving, while still being incredibly well informed and prepared. The home visits were so convenient for me with my toddler, and then the follow up visits not having to take my newborn out into the cold! My older kids also loved to be involved — it really helped them bond with their new sibling to be able to help measure and check on baby. Teryl and Kalli immediately felt like family to me, and I was so well cared for that my only postpartum blues cry was about how much I was going to miss them coming to visit me! They have created such a beautiful birth community with a book club and seasonal parties, so even that worry was unfounded, as I get to see them regularly still. Most importantly to me is the level of informed consent while still protecting the safety of everyone and providing it in a way that feels safe and loving. So many women experience birth trauma from decisions being made around them. Teryl and Kalli always reviewed my options thoroughly and the risks and benefits to each, and helped me make a choice that I felt good about. Medical things make me a little squeamish, but even when I experienced some blood loss, they addressed it promptly and safely while still respecting me enormously as a person, so the experience never felt scary to me, but safe. I had such a beautiful birth experience and I could not have done it without them. 🫶🏻

Kalli and Teryl are simply amazing! They were attentive and always made me feel heard and at ease. I loved each appointment, especially the fact that they would come to my home. My baby needed help breathing when she was born and we knew before that that was a large possibility, but I was still amazed at the calm and confident way that they handled the situation. They had everything they needed to help me and baby, but also kept me informed and helped me feel prepared for anything, always reassuring me that no matter what they would be there. I cannot say enough good things about being in their care! The fact that they take care of you 12 weeks postpartum your postpartum too is absolutely amazing!

I was looking for a home birth midwife for my fourth baby when Teryl was recommended. I'd had home births before but was looking for a midwife I could have more of a close relationship with and feel more supported. Honestly, I was sold the minute I saw the website — the whole concept of community and holistic care were exactly what I needed. I'd been on my own journey of intentional and slow living, so her message spoke right to my soul. At each appointment we chatted as friends, swapping book reviews as we listened to baby's heartbeat. The both of them took such care in involving my kids too, and they came to my house for every appointment, which was a huge deal!! During my birth, not only was I supported by a birth team I trusted, but I also felt so held and loved. Each postpartum appointment they were just as eager to know how I was doing as the baby — they wouldn't leave without doing something to help, and even vacuumed my floors! It meant a lot that they kept coming even three months after baby was born, throughout the whole fourth trimester. They were always a text away and I always felt comfortable asking, literally, any question. I would (and have) recommended Teryl and Kalli in a heartbeat. Not only do I trust them as practitioners, I'm so glad to now call these two friends.

If you are looking for two midwives that are knowledgeable and truly care, Kalli & Teryl are your gals! From our first appointment to our last, they treated me, my husband, our 3 year old, and even our dogs with so much love and were always so open to any questions or concerns we had along the way. They were so respectful of our choices during pregnancy, labor, and post! I absolutely loved having all of our prenatal appointments in the comfort of our home. They made us feel so safe during labor and delivery and took so much time with us after our baby arrived, and even made sure our toddler got to feel included and be a part of the whole newborn exam! We will forever be grateful for them and their wonderful service in getting our second baby earth-side.

I found Teryl and Kalli through a friend and I'm so glad I did! The friend had said that they vacuumed her house at her postpartum appointment and that peaked my interest. They don't just help with medical issues during your appointment time; they helped me process all of my emotions leading up to the birth, as well as my emotions postpartum. On a few different occasions, I got mental health tips from them that have been invaluable — things I'd been looking for answers to for years. I have really fast, intense labors and I was so nervous about this baby, number 3, coming even faster. But I felt so safe knowing that they would show up as soon as I needed them. When I called, I wasn't even having contractions 5 minutes apart, but they could hear in my voice that it was time, and baby came 3 hours later! They also host events, including a book club, for their clients to build community! I am new to the area, so that has been huge for me. I also so appreciate that they are queer affirming and practice Health at Every Size principles — not asking about weight or taking weight measurements, taking eating disorder history seriously, and focusing on getting enough of the needed nutrients rather than cutting anything out. I also have a history of postpartum depression, and they were so on top of that. Even when I was a little hesitant to say that things were bad, they took it very seriously and took immediate action to help. I have felt wonderfully cared for and like I couldn't ask for more!

Choosing your birth team is one of the most important decisions you will make, but it can feel so daunting and overwhelming. As someone who is also in the birth world professionally, I had a very high standard for my team. I interviewed extensively, and Teryl and Kalli made me feel safe from our first meeting. I had a gloriously uncomplicated birth, but we talked at length about my risk factors and prepared for complications ahead of time just in case. I loved that they came to my house for all my prenatal visits and we always had more than enough time to talk about anything and everything I wanted. The birth itself was fast and perfect. Climbing into my own bed after birth was the most heavenly feeling on Earth.

I absolutely love Kalli & Teryl! My first birth was seamless. They made me feel seen and heard and coached me all the way till baby was here. I felt so empowered by them! What I love most is how informed I am, without making it scary. I am happy to say I am pregnant with my second and am having the baby with Kalli and Teryl! I'm hesitant to even write this review because I don't want the secret getting out — especially if we decide to have another baby… but Teryl and Kalli are seriously the dream team when it comes to picking a birth provider. I knew from my first consultation call that they were the right fit for me and my family. I had a very smooth, uncomplicated pregnancy and a very quick and safe birth at home. Teryl and Kalli aren't just providers. They will be your cheerleaders, experts, advocates, friends and a member of your family. No appointments rushed, no questions too silly. Care doesn't stop because baby was born — it doesn't even stop at 6 weeks postpartum like it does with other, more traditional providers. My final postpartum appointment was at 12 weeks. They monitor for PPD/PPA well beyond that. They are 100% in it for you. This is what high quality, compassionate, skilled care looks like in midwives. They're the perfect balance of natural, holistic and medical minded. I'm beyond grateful for how well they supported me through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I don't think I can adequately express just how phenomenal Teryl and Kalli are. They could not have gone to further lengths to make sure that baby and I were taken care of during each part of our journey. Their support guided me through a redemptive birth. I was able to have a safe and successful VBAC, and this experience was life changing. I am so thankful for these women who really are living angels.

This was my first pregnancy and I can't express enough how amazing my experience with Kalli & Teryl has been. They have been there for me every step of the way and always have the best advice, tips and words of comfort. I had a lot of questions and concerns and they always eased my worries so graciously and kindly. I've loved getting to know them personally with every home prenatal visit.
